I had an hour or so to kill before I went with some friends to a baptism, the lighting and weather was just about ideal to do some shooting with my Coolpix 8400. I find this compact a bit frustrating to use but get fine results. I sometimes get some vignetting, I haven't been able to determine if it's the lens or the proprietry lens shade.
The flip-out articulating LCD screen makes me a little more stealth in capturing people and things that are happening, but the proliferation of DSLR's and the touristy nature of the town really doesn't necessitate such an approach.
