This is none of the most peaceful beaches around, its location makes it hard for many to get to as it's not on the usual routes. Too bad the road is so rough; maybe that is intentional as the local residents of Kingsburg want this to be kept secret.

High school softball

I had a bit of time to kill yesterday afternoon as I waited to mow my lawn - it was too wet. I decided to go check out our local school's softball game, the junior boys were playing. The lighting was ideal, I used the D40 and 12-24mm/70-30mm VR zooms for all of these files. Not too shabby for something that came up unexpectedly.

Trains and tracks

Since we no longer have such things in Lunenburg County, it's kind of neat to see actual train tracks and the train, itself. I had my handy 70-300mm VR with me, yesterday, I often need its inherently long reach - and its image quality. I plunked myself on Tower Road and was able to get a bunch of neat shots.

More flowers at the temple

I was able to capture the best light of the day, rain soon followed after a nice start. I had my "Nikon" Domke F2 bag of gear with me and that includes the D80 and a couple SB-800's. Fill-flash and the odd perspective of the AF-S 12-24mm made for some interesting photographs.

LaHave River images with UWA

Today's lighting was ideal and I thought the 12-24mm would present me with some different images than the norm. This lens is VERY difficult to use due to its wide coverage and natural distortion if not careful, but it's one of my faves. Even if I was not a Realtor, I'd still (and continue) to use this lens a lot.

More beautiful flower images

I was able to grab a few flower files this morning before I went off to my new job/career. I think I am going to have some busy days ahead, hopefully I can actually earn a living from my new endeavour and have less time to do stuff like this......I guess you make time for the really important things in life.

A few temple images

I had to be in Dartmouth for a 7:45am meeting. As always, there was a camera bag accompanying me on my journey. The dawn pre-glow was gorgeous but I was not anywhere near where I could make that work for an effective photo. I decided to just go straight to my destination and hope I'd have a few minutes to grab some shots of the temple. I managed to squeeze off about 20 files before I had to go to my rendezvous.

The temple always looks wonderful, the spring flowers add to its majesty and beauty.

In used some fill-flash from the SB-600 for the first shot and messed around with NX2 for the sepia effect for the last image.
